Spells: What are Myths and Real?
When talking about witchcraft, we usually think about black magick and how it has put humankind into danger, whether it is scenes from the books or from movies. Magick and spell-casting are surrounded by myths and misconceptions which eventually buried its true essence and principles. For the followers of magick, they would refer it to magick to differentiate from the illusion created by magicians. What are these myths and how come they are not real? Myth 1: Those who practice spell-casting and magick worship the Devil or Satan. For those who practice and follow witchcraft, good and evil is relevant. What is important is that every magick or spell are carefully though over and it would not harm anyone. In addition to that, Devil or Satan is a Christian construct. It is not included in the witch’s pantheon. Hell is another Christian construct and Wiccans and pagan believers do not believe it. It does not mean that because they are not concerned with hell they would commit evil acts. Wiccans and pagans commit good acts because they know that this would reflect later on in their lives and even in their next life. Myth 2: Spells have that visual and sound effects just like in Harry Potter films. Spells, for Wicca followers and pagan believers, are like prayers for Christians. They can be a way of communicating with the universe your intent or desire. Spells could also be a way of communicating with the gods and goddesses. Spells do not have the sound and video effects like in movies. In fact, spells do not have or manifest within the next few hours. Usually, it would take weeks or sometimes months before the spells would take effect. Spells could be about wealth, health, energy, peace and even love. Myth 3. Casting spells would require very rare materials. Casting spells do not require you to use rare and weird materials, just like in movies. Spell-caters would usually use natural materials like herbs, incense, candles, oils, flowers and other essences. In spell-casting, what is important is the emotion and the intent. Focusing your…

    Protection Spells for Different Purposes
Several protection spells are made side-by-side powerful magic spells, rituals, and incantations. These spells protect an individual from evil and danger, as well as shield them from spells being cast on them. Aside from rituals, charms and other valuable items are used for protection such as anchor, angelica root, bluestone and laundry bluing, cat’s eye shell, cord charms intended to decay, corno charm, crucifix knife key ring, to name a few of charms being sold in the market. Fouled in a length of line, the anchor symbolizes different meanings. The anchor is typically associated with a book and clasped hands or a heart. These things represent a triumvirate of virtues such as faith, hope, and charity. The anchor represents hope, the book is faith, and the hands and hearts are charity. The anchor is commonly believed to be a spellbound for safe travel. Known as the Holy Ghost root, the angelica root is widely famous to be the best guardian and healer. That is why many people use it for warding off evil and bringing good luck in health and family matters. Angelica root provides strength to women too. Some old women put the blessed angelica root in a white flannel bag and place it near a baby for protection against magic spells. In purifying and keeping a home from evil spirits, the people in the old times include the bluestone in mixing floor wash. Bluestone is a copper sulphate, odorless electric blue substance, and highly toxic. Its blue color makes it effective in warding off evil spirits. Some Hoodoo practitioners, who use bluestones, call this kind of protection spell as “blue water.” In Europe and Middle East, cat’s eye shells are protection against the evil eye. This belief originally came from the Victorian era where these are made into jewelry to ward off the evil eye. In the United States, the cat’s eye shells are put into a mojo bags for protection from evil and to break a jinx. Worth noting is that cat’s eye shells are regular component of Hoodoo practice. A practice found in many cultures is…
